I just got a yashia goby 2 days ago hasn't eatin but a small piece of mysis shrimp and now it just sits on the sand bed. Doesn't want to move at all. Should I take him back to the LFS?
Water Per.:

Ammonia: 0
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 10
PH: 8.2
Alk: 10 dkh
Salt: 1.026
It's in a 29 gallon tank with a pistol shrimp and a fire shrimp.
Tanks been running for 2 months now.

Welcome to the boards! How long did you acclimate him? What are you using to measure salinity? Does he hide at all or is he only staying out in the open? Do you notice any spots on him, rapid gilling, or redness in the gill area?

I use a refractometer to measure salt.
I acclimated him for a hour that's what the lfs told me?
He only stays in the open sitting on the sand bed.
I would say he is breathing fast...
Oh yeah and thanks for the welcome..

He doesn't look too good. How was he acting at the store? These fish tend to be shy at first, but they usually choose to hide in the rockwork, not be out in the open.
I drip for a couple of hours but many people do not. An hour isn't a bad amount of time.

swimming around just fine at the store and I watched him eat mysis shrimp...
Should I have the lights off now or keep them on?

You can turn them off to see if that helps alleviate some of his stress. How exactly did you acclimate? Can you describe the process?

The lfs told me to put the fish and the water in a bucket then add a cup of my tank water every 15 min until it has been an hour then put him in the tank with the lights off...I noticed you said drip for a couple hours that is probably a WAY better method...I wish i found this site earlier...
Oh yeah i put the bag in my tank water for 15 min to adjust to temp...

Did you happen to test the water in the bag? Some LFSs run their water at 1.019-1.023. If the SG was on the low end at the store then he may be suffering from acclimation shock. There is nothing that you can do about that now besides let him relax.
The drip method is easy. Use a piece of airline tubing. Place one end into the tank and tie a loose knot in the other. Syphon the water down the tube and tighten the knot until the flow becomes a slow drip into the bucket.

No i didn't measure the water in the bag...I did buy him with a tiger pistol shrimp and the 1st day they both went in a cave and never came out but now on the 2nd and 3rd day hes just been sitting on the sand bed nowhere near the shrimp's cave...WEIRD!
Thanks for the drip method instructions!
