is my star fish going to live????

I found my star fish caught in the blower of one of my maxi jets this evening. I dont think he had been there long. But it still did some damage to2 of his legs

. I cut off the maxi jet and got him off and he laid on the sand for a few minutes but gathered himself and went back to business. Should I worry about him or will he be OK??

i cant say yes or no...but starfish are touchy

How long have you had it? If this is the only issue and it is otherwise healthy, it would recover. How big is the tank?

I got it from SWF.com about a month ago. I have a 265 Gallon tank.

The issue is with the "about a month ago" part. If it is for sure more than a month than I would be hopeful. If it is less than a month, then I am worried that there is more going on with it. regardless the only option is to keep it in a stable large reef tank with really good parameters (especially specific gravity). After that it is a wait and see...

It has been moving around the tank all day. It did break off one of its legs. The part it shead is still on the glass..

Dont know what Im supposed to do with that. but the starfish seems to be fine.
