Hi,
Ive got a 340g that is 8' wide x 2'deep x 34"tall. I wanted to know if these fish would do good in a tank this size? 1 blond naso tang,6 yellow tangs,12 green chromis,1 imperator angel, 1 black back butterfly, and 1 zebra eel. If this will work do you foresee any conflict? If it wont work what would you reccomend?
Thanks,EQ

HI,and thanks for your reply. I will have approx.200 lbs.of live rock, 6" dsb, 100 gal.sump/refugium, and a good sized skimmer. Dose this sound sufficent ?:)

IMO you could almost double the amount of LR. I have a 125 on order and when it's initially setup I will have 220 pounds in it right from the start....200 pounds wont look like hardly anything in your tank.

When/If the eel is bigger,it may eat the chromis....If it can catch them....Same question about the six yellow tangs.....Why not lower the yellow tangs to 1-2 and get another species?

I think it would be neat if the yellow tangs school togather. But if they are not likley to do this than I will definatley think of other tank mates. What do you guys think ??

Maybe this is a stupid question....but what is he polishing the inside of the tank with? Is it something made specifically for aquariums?

About the zebra eel, I think its a good choice, I got 1 a week ago(approx. 10 in.) and its the coolest thing on earth! He has the sweetest eyes and he'll even eat from my hand! The only problem is my anemone keeps stinging him and my dad gets upset(he loves eels)!

The acrylic is 3/4" thick. And the polish is novus 2,it is for acrylic and its aquarium safe. picked it up at meyer plastic. I will keep every body posted on the progress.:D

Build your own tank, that's an interesting prospect. by the way, if the eel is big and fast enough there's a small chance of the chromis becoming food, but overall they're to fast for the eel anyway.

Would anybody submit the methods used to build a tank like that... For example joining the corners, etc.?

Tim0, it's extremely easy, yet painfully difficult...
Joining the edges is the simple part. The hard part is cutting the acrylic. I built my own 30 gal and to join you just add solvent and it'll bond very strong.
