Is Plumbers goop the same as Marine Goop???

I am adding a drain to my ASM G-3 and I was told to use Marine Goop to secure the fitting. Well all I can find is Plumbers goop and my local Lowes does not carry Marine Goop just the Plumbers. So I am just wanting to know if it is the same and will work.

I have a feeling all those so called goops (by same manuf anyway) are all the same except perhaps for color. I have used:
Plumbers Goop
Marine Goop
Shoe Goop
Glass - MIrrow Goop
And probably a lot of goops I can't recall, and never had any issues with any of them., They all appear to be a heavy bodied styrene based adhesive / sealer combination.
