Is powerhead upgradw worth it?

I currently have a 46 gal bowfront reef tank that has two rio 400 powerheads. I've been reading how much everyone love the Koralia powerheads. Does upgrading make sense or should I just wait until they break? Also, how much is too much flow. If I had two Koralia #3's would that be too much?

I was going to upgrade to 2 #2's in my 46 bow but I thought about it and it might be overkill. Those Koralias put out serious flow. I'm actually happy with my 2 maxijet 900's. I think its enough flow. I guess it depends on what corals your keeping.

stream type PH's are one of the best things to come out in a long time... ( well.. affordable wise anyways... they have been around but lot of $$$$) you are probaly alright with what you have now but can you make things better?... it's all relevant to what you are/intend to keep.. with fish only .. more flow is better but not needed.. they dont need the flow to survive.. same w/ FOWLR... but if you do corals of any sort, think about it for a little bit.. for one thing.. corals aren't mobile as to say.. so they can "find" there own food.. they have to sit tight and wait for it to pass by as to speak... ( softies dont need as much as lps cuzz they at least move a little have have somewhat of a "range"; lps needs a little mroe because it to can move a little but not much.. then SPS they need all they help they can get fromit's envionment to help it survive.. they just about dont move at all.. they just have tiny polypes.. )
so imo they are WELL worth it, but are they needed?? nope..

If you are doing an SPS tank get a Tunze 6025 and you will see results fast ( polyp extension is insane). Koralia not worth it IMO but thats only my opinion based on the ones I tested, they went down within 2 months so I only use Tunze. If you have LPS or softies stick with your seios, if you need more flow you will know. If you have to much you will also know that then you just redirect your flow with rock and flow direction placement..
