the accusations didn't start in Toronto, they started in NY. and no, there was no immediate change. now you say that Clemens production due to performance enhancers was more obvious than Bonds'. ok, so let's look at the stats. because as far as I'm concerned, the stats don't lie when it comes to sports and performance enhancers. I'm looking at pre- and post- 2000 because that is around the time that both Clemens and Bonds are said to have started juicing.........
pre-2000
Bonds averaged 30 HR/per year
31 stolen bases/per year
103 walks per year
.570 avg slugging pct.
post-2000
Bonds averaged 45 HR/per year
7 stolen bases/per year
169 walks per year
.722 avg slugging pct.
pre-2000
Clemens average record was 15 wins and 8 losses
143 strikeouts per year
3.18 ERA was his average
post-2000
Clemens average record was 13 wins and 6 losses
166 strikeouts per year
3.30 ERA was his average
now, please explain how Clemens use was more evident than Bonds. ALL of Bonds expected offensive output INCREASED post-2000 and the major drop in stolen bases is what would be expected from someone who has bulked up on enhancers. now other than an increase in average strikeouts, Clemens numbers have actually NOT improved, they've gotten SLIGHTLY worse.
of course, common sense would say that Clemens could not maintain close to those kinds of numbers without performance enhancers and that is why I believe he is lying. but there is NO case that can logically be made for the explosion of Bonds numbers without performance enhancers.
now, if you can look and the facts and the stats and say again that there's more proof that Clemens was using than Bonds, then I say you're very biased. but I know that already. I'm not biased at all....I say they were both juiced cheaters.
