Is Something Wrong Here

I just got my oceanic 75 reef ready tank in the other day and today when i put it on its stand and i tried to insert the big drain line thing. The local guy who ordered it for me had the drain drilled to a 2.5 inch hole, don't know if that matters, but anyway, the big drain pipe thing hits the stand. It won't screw in, and will not even fit in.
on more quick question, which side does the foam washer thing go on, the inside or the outside.
but most important, is there something wrong here...

It's called a Bulkhead Fitting. Is this a setup you bough as a set or are you piecing it together? If you bought it as a set contact who you bought it from as they need to straighten it out for you. If you are piecing it yourself, You sare going to have to either grind the hole to fit the bulkhed or get a smaller bulkhead that fits. As far as it hitting the stand, is the back ot the tank drilled or the bottom? Pics would help. The washer goes on the inside of the tank.

The tank and everything is brand new from oceanic. ordered from a local aquarium shop here in shreveport, louisiana. There is in the back left of the tank two holes drilled in the bottom of the tank. The largest of the two holes is the drain hole which is the larger hole and the one on the left. it came with a big drain pipe with foam on the outside, when i tried to insert the drain pipe on the hole, it hit the bottom of the stand. the drain hole when the tank in centered and placed on the stand does not clear the bottom of the stand.
So if you looked down from the top of my tank right now. You would see the large drain hole and the left edge is covered by the top edge of the stand. I hope i am explaining this correctly.

I'm not sure I'm following you correctly, and the last thing you need at this time is the wrong advise. Any chance you could post some pics? If not I would go to the LFS you got it from, they should be able to help you out.

Top edge of the tank ???
If the hole in the Bottom of the tank and the hole in the Top of the stand do not line up then they dont line up.
Either have you supplier fix this ( could be the wrong stand for that tank ) or you cut the hole in the " stand " bigger or where it needs to be as long as long as that does not remove needed support.

Well that does'nt look like anything a jigsaw could'nt fix. But if I just bought a brand new "set" I would not want to have to cut it. Better check with the manufacturer to see if they sent the wrong stand. If you cut it and have a problem somewhere there's a good chance they won't honor it if you modify it. Dumb question but, are you sure you have the tank centered on the stand?

Yes, there is no question on the centering of the aquarium. In order to make the hole fit, the opposite side of the tank would overhang the stand.

I would ask your LFS to come to your home and show you how to properly set it up most will do this for a small fee.but you may find it to be worth it, if you dont know what your doing
