is tank alright?

I have an elegance coral...well had......It died and the tank is really cloudy
I can't get salt mix for a few weeks
so i put three bags of carbon in will that clear the cloudyness

I'd be more concerned about an ammonia spike than the cloudiness. Have you checked your levels? And any idea how long the elegance was dead in your tank?

I think the carbon should serve you well. Remove the coral if you haven't already done so. If you tank is well established I wouldn't worry too much about the ammonia, your bacteria should take care of it quickly.

yea i took out the coral this morning when i found it dead.....my tank is well established so i think ammonia wont be a problem....the carbon is slowly clearing the water....non of the inhabitants have even acted dif it is wierd...I think everything is all good

the cloudiness was caused by an ammonia spike due to it dieing, the carbon will clear it up but have you tested your ammo yet? carbon does not remove ammo.

It's a good idea to have some salt at all times.

What if the replies were to do large water changes? You could lose everything you worked so hard for.
