Been trying to find a good article that helps determine what is a safe number of fish per size of tank.
Anyone know of one?

Well like I was wondering if a fish is rated to 30g and I have a 29g does that mean it is the only fish I can keep?
If not then how many 30g rated fish could I keep responsibly?
Or if they are rated 10g, etc
I was curious if there was documentation.
I personally love damsels. And I think the six line wrasse is neat. Could they be kept together? They are both rated 30

if you want to get more than damzels don get damzels. in your size tank you could probaly get a fish rated for a 30 and 2 or 3 rated for a 10 or 20. get as much live rock as you can though.

I'm still growing the tank so no fish for a while. I've got 13lbs of rock from my 10g tank and added 10lbs of dry rock to it to grow. Then in my QT I have 1lb live rock with another 10lbs of dry to grow there. So once done I'll have about 34lbs and they are nice lacy rocks with great surface coverage per pound.
Then I've got about 30lbs of sand and am building a small refugium. Currently have macro algae loose in the tank.

you should not have live rock in your qt. if you do medicen will cause die off from the live rock and you will have an amonia spike.

Sorry since my QT isn't in use and won't be for a while I'm just using it to grow rock. Then I'll move it to the main tank before using the QT as that.
The reason I have them separate is because my tank was weak and I didn't want to overload it with dry rock. So I spread it between 2 tanks to keep the DT from becoming unbalanced.
