PFO is a great magnetic ballasts. I run Icecap electronic ballasts and have had no problems but they are more expensive.

my ballast isnt in the hood its self, the benefit of that is that if i want to upgrade my ballast all i have to do is buy a new one, i dont have to open the hood and rewire anything

You can remote ANY ballist if you rewire it. It's just adding wire to move the ballist to another location.
