Is there any way to separate the two?

The urchin will let them go eventually. I have three urchins that pick them up as well and they always end up ok.

I assumed he would eventually, but he's had them for a while now and I was getting worried. Thanks for the reply and the reassurance

I agree, they look like they are enjoying their ride. I wouldn't worry too much about it. I actually think it's kind of funny. Just pay attention to it. You don't want it dropping them behind any rocks and getting lost.

Once the urchin releases the zoo's, they will be floating in the tank. The next step would be to catch and glue. I'm just starting on my reef, so is this something that I can expect my urchin to do with all my corals once I get them? It sounds like this urchin will be redecorating my tank continuously. How do you handle this?

and yes, I do find it very interesting and entertaining. It's a great learning experience to witness what these wonderful ocean creatures do in the wild!

When mine releases the zoos I just leave them where they fall. They will find a spot and attach if you want them to spread naturally. Just a suggestion. I have zoos all over the place even in spots where you have to search to see them.

That's hilarious! I didn't know urchins would pick up zoos and drop them off somewhere else! BTW nice zoos, wanna frag me some?

I'm just starting out and these are the only one's I have! I was so excited when I found these at the lfs. I ran home, found THE perfect spot for them and then this happens
The kid's and I developed a new game: instead of "Where's Waldo" it's "where's the zoo's"!
