If you want more rock, Id add base rock under the existing rock. This base rock will quickly become 'live' with the amount of organisms around it.
you can put as much rock in your tank as you want. But each peice of rock will displace some water so you have to ballance the amount of rock with the number of fish you want.
Water is the 'living space' like in your home.

You Can Add More Lr But Lr Should Be Light Not Dense, If It Looks Heavier Than It Is Then Pass On It
And To Answer Your Question, Yes You Can Have To Much Lr. The More Rock U Have In Your Tank The Less Room Your Fish Have To Swim

All I have to say is "DIY LIVEROCK" As far as I am concered, the only way to go. Seed it with some real rock, and save $$$$$$$

try rearranging the rockwork the way ou have it you will have alot of dead water spot (no water flow) there are many ways to set up live rock even small amounts can look to be more.you may also consider going a bit larger with a couple rock no it isnt cheeper but one or 2 larger more porus peices can make a big difference in apprearance and stability of decore.its not always the weight of the rock its the positioning and porousness below are a few pics to show different ways to make a small amount of rock look like more these are some of the tanks i have had up in the past or still have now 50 gal is the top photo other are 90 upper left 75 upper right
bottom row from left to right 100 and 125 gal i hope this helps

If that's 80lbs. you got robbed! I have 25lbs. Fiji in my 29gal. and yours only looks like at best one and a half that! 80lbs. in a 48" 55gal. should fill the tank at least a 3rd. the whole way across!

that rock must be filled with something to make it weigh that much, or they didnt really weigh it, or their scale is busted! here is my 75 gallon with 72lbs of live rock.. looks like a heck of alot more rock then u have...

I started off with 30 lbs of live rock and I have a 29 gallon. Of course everytime I buy a piece of coral is comes with a rock so I probably have about 35-40 lbs now.

Thank you so much!!
Yeah I agree. I wanted him to see what 30 - 40 lbs looks like in a 29 gallon looks like. His should be full of rock if he has 80lbs in a 55. Definately doesn't look like 80lbs
I will have to post more recent pictures. I haven't taken new pictures in a while.

Well weather I got robbed or not Is your opinion and that fine you are intitled to that.
I did not ask "can you guess how much rock I have" besides I only paid 35.00 for all the rock so weather it is 8 or 80 if I got robbed or not is a little late and well that is for me to learn.
If you would like I will take it all out and rearange it and reweigh it and give you an exact measurement.
Thank you for the thoughts anyway

i think it could be very well 80 lbs they are smaller peices yes but depending on the density of each rock the weight will vary I have small peices (base rock) that weighs 5 lbs or more and large peice that weigh the same .im sure if you move them around a bit in a more single unit you.you may find you have more rock that it appears now

well since almost everybody thinks It is not 80lbs your right I took it all out and reweighed it and OH NO its only 70lbs minus 5 lbs in the sump so in the tank is only 65 here is all the same rock spread out.

Thank You
I had it all piled in the corners so I could have alot of free swimming room because I thought I was going to get a Yellow tang before I convinced my wife that it would not fit
