our tank has already cycled and we have about 1 " of live sand and i wanted it a little higher so i added some CC to it. it isnt alot and u can still see most of the sand. im not exactly sure how much cc i put in but it wasnt nearly as much as the ls.just a THIN layer on the top. we have 2 fish..is it ok to leave it or will this cause much more maint.?

What type of fish? Are you sure the tank cycle is complete?

i would add a jawfish now. the mix between cc and sand would mike a nice burrow for the little guy.

The CC will work it's way to the top (or stay on top), so it may cover your sand. I've never had trouble adding sand to a tank, I just soak it w/tank water first so it doesn't make such a sandstorm.

there is not enough cc to cover all the ls. there is just a little bit of it. maybe 5 lbs or 10. no more then 10 def. i have a clown fish now but i am planning on agresive fish when read to add more fish...will this be a problem?

Why not list the types of fish you would like to add and get feed back from the forum on their opinions that way.
Also is this a 44 gal tank?
How long has it been running for?
In the first post you say you have 2 fish, in the last post you only talk about your clown. How many fish do you have at the moment?

2 weeks. the levels are good. we have a wet dry. 1 clown 1 damsel 1 fresh water molly since the 2nd or 3rd day. we want to get some agressive fish when we are ready of course.... humu humu, dwarf lion, maybe a small puffer...?
