is this a good deal?

Have a chance to buy a 105 gallon tall tank, oak stand and canopy with a few parts for a sump for $300. Is this a good deal? Tank has been empty for 3 years.

if it dont leak BUY it, thats a great deal. The only forseable problem is if you want reef type items and if they used copper meds, so ask questions. But if it was me i would get it. And have them fill it before you pay them.

Was used for a reef and no copper has been used in it. We went and got it this afternoon. It has been drilled and has a piece of PVC sticking up in it to just below the water level. He ran a wet dry system with bio balls in the stand below it. Gave us a Rio 2100 pump and a whole box of bio balls with it, that was all he could find of the filtration system. We don't really know much about sumps and how this PVC pipe works...any insight?

Sounds like you got the deal of the day. Even if it does ahve a leak aquarium silicone sealent is cheapand easy to do too. Sounds like your pvc pipe might hane been for the overflow to the sump hard to say with just the little bit of info. where in the tank is it ? How big? any info could help.

i'll even throw in, some stock with my 75 , i paid a lot more than that for a 75 with a stand(pine), pc lights and an emporer 400 filter,a nd wish i had gotten the overflow built in, but yes it is an excellent deal, especialy if yo like the loks of it(Not too scratched or beat up or anything like that, I MEAN as long as you are satisfied with it) adn it will fit your plans, in other words, if you were not thinking bigger, or don't thinkyou can fit one that big, i'd have gone and gotten it too(if i were you)
