a few questions -
1. What kind of return pump?
2. what kind of skimmer?
3. how much do 140 clarity tanks run for, brand new?

I bought a 110gallon with stand, 4 NO lights, 3 penguin 330 biowheeels, 3 200w ebo-jager heaters, and about 25 6" cichlids, all for $100. A few months ago I bought a 55g with stand, wet/dry, lights, heater, plants, rocks, etc....for only $40. I personally think the deal sucks. Even at my LFS, you can buy a new 135 for $279, new stand &canopy$350. Maybe it is location, I live in San Antonio. I think you should pass on the deal, and just keep an eye out.

If that's an Acrylic tank I would definately be all over it. I'm from Canada where our prices are usually higher on aquarium supplies...I'll give you a rundown of my costs on my new/used tank.
Prices in US Funds
110G Tank - $72
Custom built stand/canopy - $326
Normal Output Lighting(4x40watt) - $100
Lifereef CLF-1 sump - $100
Lifereef SVS-24 Skimmer - $220(lifereef.com garage sale page)
Mag 9.5 on skimmer - $110
Mag 7 return - $57
Heater,plumbing parts, overflow, misc - $150
All of that is roughly $1000 USD...for a glass tank. I say for $1000 for a 140 Acrylic...go for it!
