I had my system setup and cycling for about 5 days when the tank began to decay. I rushed everything I had (3 pieces of lr, and the decor into a 26gallons tote and kept the filter running that water. This went on for about 3 days until I could get the new tank filled with water and warmed up.. So finally that time came yesterday and I noticed this on one piece of lr this morning.. what is it? a root, some type of plant?? Anything to be alarmed about? It looks like it might be some kind of root or something.

Looks like a peice of algae. Gracillaria probably. It is a good thing. If you ever get a tang in the tank, it will be gone as it is also known by the name "tang heaven".

ok. I just plugged in my high pressure sodium light too.. To help supplement the light that the flourescents arent giving. This is, until I get myself a good lighting system.
