Is this Aiptasia?

I recently put a sump under my tank; when I did this I moved some of my rocks around. Today while doing some maintenance I found this! Is it Aiptasia? I'm afraid from the hitchhiker guide it is... What do I do?

I had one of those and it dissappeared right after I got some new clean up crew: Sally lightfoots, camellbacks & a coral banded. Do they eat them? Or is it possible that it just went into hiding? Can they move around?

I took a syringe with boiling water and dosed it. It disappeared right after I hit it with the hot water. Not sure if it sucked back in. I've been watching all day and it hasn't came back out. Do you think it's gone? Or will I have to do it again?

when I had an aiptasia problem I was told to dose it with hot water and it multiplied like 100 times. Then I heard of peppermint shrimp. They will eat all your aiptasia in like a week.

I have some aptasia in my tank too. I tried giving them a bath with kalk and they died back a little then came back. I have had really good luck with the hot water method. I just got a cup of boiling water and dosed them with a syringe. It worked for me. And yes, you too will learn to hate them..

You have to get either a needle syringe and shoot it deep into the mouth with joe's juice or kalk, or use a syringe and attach a rubber tubing to the end to get the liquid deep into the mouth.

Hmmmm I did syringe it in the mouth with the boiling water. I have a syringe with a needle nose on it. Do you think it is dead or will it come back. This one was rather large when I discovered it. Does this mean there are probably more? My tank has been up for a year and this is the first I've seen. I haven't put any new rocks in; the only things I've added laterly are snails and crabs. Boosting the cleaner crew. The only other thing I've done different was add the sump and put in macroe algae in it? :notsure:

Thank you for the input. I will get one tomorrow. I haven't seen the Aiptasia since I dosed it in hot water. Hopefully it's gone.

Thanks Jakebtc & reeferdawg for the info on the Peppermint shrimp.

How long does it take the shrimp to get rid of Aiptasia? Does Aiptasia grow fast? I would have never seen this one if I hadn't moved my rocks, it was on a rock on the backside and underneath where I couldn't see it.

The shrimp will be ok, I don't think mine eats any of the aiptasia...He sure comes out when it's feeding time though..The boiling water works great. Be sure to look for others.
