Is this bad?

Hey guys.
Got my 55g started a few weeks ago, just got around to getting some live rocks from the store today. After a few hours of sitting in the tank, I noticed a couple guys peeking out, and I'm not sure if it's the aipstasia anemones that I read about on here a lot. I'm including a pic here, assuming it works.
I've read a lot of sources saying that peppermint shrimps are good at eating them up. I'm not planning on putting any shrimp eaters in the tank anyway, and I was planning on getting a cleaner shrimp, so I'm cool with putting them in.
But I was also wondering what is so bad about them if they're not stopped?
Thanks in advance.

Well the picture is blurry but i think it does look like aipstasia. Yes peppermint shrimps are good at eating aipstasia and if you don't stop them they will spread pretty quick and I believe they can sting your corals

+1, yes they spread fast and sting coral. Your blurry pic doesn't look like it is one of those.
It is called live rock because of all the tiny critters that live on and in it. One of the first joys of a saltwater tank is saying "what the heck is that thing, it looks like a _____???" So keep watching, you will see stranger things than that..LOL.

Yeah, sorry, I dunno why it can't focus. I even tried with my [usually] awesome 12 megapixel camera and it wouldn't come out clear. :(
I should probably add that it's an inch tall at the most, if that helps at all.

Looks like aptiasa to me! I would kill it! You can get peppermints, Joe's Juice, or inject it wiht lemon juice or boiling water!
Does your camera have a macro setting?
