Do not go with quick dip (except for pH) very unreliable. Get red sea testing kits. Otherwise all looks good, what size is your tank???

I would go with a Aqua C Remora for a skimmer.=About $165. Aquarium Pharmaceuticals Saltwater Liquid Master Test Kit=$15-$20. I dont think you can use a stainless steel thermometer for SW.Plus a hang on will interfere with lid closing.Get the kind with the suction cup.Get bigger tank set up if space and money allow it.
I wouldn't add things like iodine without a test kit for it.Shop around at stores near you.You could save money on shipping for the heavy stuff like sand,LR and salt.If youre going to buy online shop around first.

I would recommend you look at titanium heater, I just recently got one and the difference in the stablity of the temp in my tank is amazing. I agree not to get the dip sticks but I equally don't like red sea or aquarium pharm. The only test kits I really like and recommend are salifert, but they are a bit more expensive (worth every penny IMO) but for a little less money (more upfront but less with the refills) look at the Fast Test and Sea Test kits. I have been pretty happy with my bak-pak and if you find one used you could get it for around $75. I also way prefer maxijet powerheads to any other.
Don't worry about Iodine, not something you want to dose.
No on the mandarin- tank not big enough for the amount of LR needed.
The angel might give you trouble in that size tank.

Nice changes!! Again, I agree with the above about the dip sticks. Get real test kits. Iodine...you don't need it (as mentioned). Between the AquaC and the Bak Pak... That seems to be the great debate. I'm partial to the AquaC myself.
But a wave-maker... Good investment IMO. You just plug 4 PH's directly into the back and set the mode you want (fish only or reef ...) and it will do the rest for you. When you feed, you hit one button and it will shut off all but 1 PH for 10 minutes. If you add that to your list get Maxi-jet PH's for it, or the Hagen's, they can handle the constant on/off better.
Herbivore minced-my fish hated it, I think frozen Formula 2 is much better. (Pay attention to frozen shipping charges, it may be more cost efficient to get that from your LFS) And since it appears that you have a ton of money, I would get a digital thermometer.
But I truly commend you on your research!! I wish I had done some when I set up my tank!!:cheer:

for about 2 weeks but I've ALWAYS wanted saltwater fish but now since im 14 I can somewhat afford the, in a decent tank so there life won't be miserable like the one's you see in a lfs in those gallon cubes with not even a rock just swimming in circles slowly going insane, lol. I just want do do this right the first time and make the fish happy as can be behind 4 panes of glass.
Well thnx again for the info.
