Hey guys i had a quick question basically i set up my 90 gallon tank about 3 weeks ago and everything looks good so far except for a little much algae but i know that its going threw its cycle. Anyway the place that i get my fish from they don't let anyone buy the fish when the order first comes in they hold the fish for 7 days they say because they want to treat any illness that the fish may have when they come in so what type of illness could they treat in a 7 day period?

thats an excellent fish store (I cant vouch for their knowledge but thats an excellent thing for them to do.). very nice of them not to sell new arrivals.
basicly seven days lets them see if anything is sick I bet the sick fish dont get sold untill treatment is complete. whether it take seven days or twenty.

They probably don't mean that they treat them for 7 days then sell them, they hold them 7 days to detect disease and if they have any they treat them for however long it takes before selling them.
This is indeed a good sign.

Seems like a store that would pass up a certain sale in an effort to provide a better product (Whether they treat them all or not, hold them for prospective treatment, or merely hope to weed out the undesirables) must mean something positive.
