Moved a 125 gallon tank 11 days ago. This Powder Brown Tang is the only one effected. He is eating well... I just started up a 40watt UV Today, will that help any?

The guy that I got the tank and fish from said that cleaner shimp would help...any truth to that? I think I know the answer

Expect it to spread to your blue hippo shortly. Cleaner shrimp don't hurt but they don't help either as they can't eliminate the parasite or completely "clean" a fish either.
Good Luck (sorry to hear about the ich)

I'm doing now as well, its not bad if you have an established QT tank otherwise get the water change bucket ready.

Powder Brown no longer has spots...been gone for over 1 week. No other fish have been effected. I did use Ich Attack for over a week before the UV was installed... I know i'm not out of the woods on this, but all fish are happy and healthy. Cross fingers for the future

Don't expect the ich to be curred. What you describe is common. The parasite has 3 week life cycle, and will more likely than not, return.

can you brake the life cycle of ick with UV, yes but you have a better chance of winning the lottery, to many variables. the main one is having every ick parasite in its free swimming stage pass through your UV sterilizer
