Is this macro algae?????

I was wondering.. I live on the ocean and have a dock.. and on it grows this green kelp like plants. Are they macro algae that can be kept in a refugium? If they can make the transition to warm water would they work to cut down the nitrates?? Thank you!

the first step wpuld be to determine what it is. Be careful that you dont introduce anything from the wild that will destroy your tank. chances are that it might be safe, but there is also a chance it is not. Livestock, Water, Sand, etc. may have pollution issues as well.
Can you describe this stuff? caulerpa is also pretty cheap at LFS's and online If it is some sort of caulerpa, it may be fine.
can you take a picture of it?
 
COOL.. Will do! Ill post a pic tonight!!! BTW, Caulerpa here is $$$ like 10 bucks for a small handfull...... that doesnt go too far!!
