Is this normal?

I was going to clean the filter in my canister when I noticed about 15 bunny snail, (I think thats what they are called) along with a couple dozen pods. Is this a good thing? I will be changing over to a wet dry in week or two.

yes, it is normal. many things get caught in filters that we do not want to remove. this is one fo the resaons why we don't use filters, becaused cleaning and changing can be a NOT SO GOOD idea.

That is one of the reasons why you dont use filters...others do, and will continue to use them...
I always find pods in my filter pads of my tidepool...they live in it even with just the splashing water on them...interesting critters they are.
