Is this normal?

Sometimes when i wake up at night i notice that my yellow tang is very pale and has a dark brown spot in the middle of it? i kind of freak out when i see this and i turn on the light to get a better look and within minutes his colour returns. I did a water test and everything checks out ok...do they generally do this at night or is something wrong?

Yes they will get pale when the lights are off at night!

Ahhhhh that makes me feel better...i tried researching it on the net but all the sites i went to never mentioned anything about them looking like keg at night.

When i had my YT he was pale everytime i turned on my lights,it took him about 20 minutes then he looked as good as a new one!

That is normal, as long as he is healthy and happy when lights are on.
