Is This Normal?

my yellow tang is picking apart my Zoos'. Is this normal? I guess I have to get rid of him if I want Zoos'? Comments welcome. I thought they would only eat algea?

It's uncommon, but it does happen - especially in situations where they are underfed. What and how often do you feed the tang???

twice per day flakes and i have 2 algea clips...he doesnt ever seem to stop eating or picking at my frags...he doesnt know it but his coral lunch costs more than a lobster dinner for me.

That sucks! I actually witnessed my Emerald crab snacking on one of my Pink Elephant palys last night!

I couldn't believe it, they have never went after any of my zoo's or paly's.
So, I feel you pain and frustration right now.

Are you sure he's picking on the zoos and not just algea around them? Is there actuall visible damage done?

i don't know the right terminology but he seems to be picking at the the smaller buds of the zoos....wiping them right off the frag. I think he he picking so hard around the larger polyps and that dislodges them or loosens them and that is great for my decorator crab who is starting to look like a frag himself.
