my emerald crab is suddenly my chocolate chip starfish's best friend. If the starfish is on the glass the crab is hanging from him, if he is on the sand the crab is on his back. My starfish is very active he is constantly moving and the crab is everywhere he goes. Is this normal? One won't hurt the other will it?

I used to have a lot of problems with starfish, as they were constantly eaten by some of my other aquarium inhabitants, including crabs. Better safe than sorry. What you interpret as them being friends could be the crab just waiting until he's really hungry, they are animals after all with primal instincts.
