is this normal?

i tested my PH this morning at around 10am and it was really high at 8.6
then i tested it again this afternoon about 7pm and it was low at 7.6
is this normal for the PH to do this?
if not how can i fix it

Try to retest again. I always thought that pH can rise the longer the lights are on. Maybe you got a false reading. Did you by chance top off with fresh water between tests.

thanx...i just tested again..and it is 8.4 now..i guess i just messed up on the last test and got all worked up.
