i have a biocube 29 and i am thinking of getting the caribsea live oolite sand, but i think it might cloud the water because its
0.1-1.0 mm thick, or i could get the other caribsea live sand wich is 1-2mm thick. what do you think i should get?

I wasted a chunk of money stocking my 75g with that sand, it blows all over the place, a fish swimming by creates a sandstorm. Ended up having to take the tank apart after just 2 weeks and replacing the sand with the larger grain....Might work for a lower flow tank....Looks awesome, but what a pain.

Sorry, the oolite is the really fine sand that blows everywhere, go with the larger grain. Jim

oolitic sand is best IMO as a base layer under aragonite, it creates an excellent anoxic zone for anaerobic bacteria, its my favorite sand for low flow tanks, invert only tanks, bottom three inches of a deep sand bed, and applications as that. its hard to use in a high flow tank as a top layer, or with large/fast swimming fish, or with sand sifting fish as it is small and suspends easier than larger grains.
