1) Just bought new lights had 20 W Flourescent so maybe this will help. Now I have 175 W Halide HO and X2 65 W Actinic and four moon lights. Right now I run the moon lights from 6:30 PM to 8:00 am then the Actinic from 8:00 am till 6:30 PM and Halide from 10:00 am to 3:00 PM.
2) I took the rock out and scrubbed it with a new brush and put it back in.
Did water parameters yesterday SG 1.025, PH 8.4, Nitrite 0 ppm, Amonia 0 ppm and Nitrite 30 ppm. I know the Nitrate are high but working on them with water chamges. Have not seen the algea since :joy:

The dreaded stuff got into my tank and by the time I realized what it was, it was on everything. I took out all my rock and scrubbed it, increased my circulation to about 1000 gph,(33 gallon tank), and eventually had to resort to antibacterial medication to get rid of it.

I used the brown sugar method and my 5 month battle with it is all over now. Google Anthony Calfo and brown sugar.
