could be borderline. I would not feed for a few days and keep an eye on nitrItes. if they spike up the do not feed until they come down. Should take a week or so. If after 4 days you have seen no nitrIte spike then feed very limited amouts once per day.

My tank has been running for 13 years. Specs are Amonia 0, Nitrites 0, Nitrates 10 sg 1.21. I have been using an undergravel filter with gravel for all these years and have never had a problem with spikes. I run 2 power heads for the ugf. I know, live sand and live rock are preferred here but I have NEVER had any problems with my current setup.

Sorry. the usual question here is for the critical first fish additions.
UGFs are fine and your experience agrees with my experience on a small system I ran for many years.
If you already have say twice as many fish in there, you should be ok. the way I do it is to keep an eye on nitrItes. I am sure with your experience you will have no problems.
you have any macros or plants in the system? If so and they in the display and if so (again
) how do they work with the UGF?BTW betcha you have good calcium levels as well.
