Is this true for all lights?

I read this for a jebo light. Is this true of all MH?

Metal HiLide are not attend to be turn off and on, if turned on need to wait 30 minutes before turning it off, by doing this the bulb will last much longer. Also Once recieved this light it will take 4-6 hour before the Bulb reach it's full strength. Please don't turn on and off because it's not bright, just wait unit need to warm up

Yes, that is true of all MH.

In fact, I can't even turn my MH off then right back on..won't happen. I have to wait about 10 minutes. It's also not good on the ballast/bulb.
