this is the end product, im now making a new canopy, Still a little foggy, had to add 45 gals of new water, Thats a hell of a water change. not bad though I was able to catch a lot of water to re use. And my wife likes the printed background, I wanted to paint it but Godzilla had a fit. Now I just have to let algae cover it.LOL

I did have tubs around in case i needed to do something like this, was thinking more like incase of upgrading, but whatever. I used filters in the livestock and powerheads pointing up to allow gas exchange. It seems to have worked so far, ill keep ya posted.
To all who contributed to this thread, thanks for your kind words and support, I only hope nobody EVER has to have this experience.

first post and you had to disagree, perhaps I misthought, Since this is a Reef Tank Forum, this is the worst nightmare, I suppose in the grand scheme of life , No this isnt the worst thing that can happen, TRUST ME!!!!!!!!!!!. Lighten up you'll get along with this group of people.

wow, thanks for the welcome. I was talking about reef tanks - and there are much worse things that could happen to them. Don't take my post as a "at least you have your health" or "at least your wife didn't leave you" type post. What I meant was it was a good thing he was home and had time to react. What if this happened when you were on vacation and you came back to a rotting tank?
