Guys/Gals,
I think I am having a party this weekend.... The addition of approx. 40 lbs of Aragonite on top of my crushed coral, and the addition of approx. 200 bioballs in my wet/dry. Plus a little more attention to detail within my reef has gone a long way. For the first time in two years, my nitrates are at 15 ppm when three weeks ago they where still at 40 ppm.... And have never been lower....!!!!!!
I have lived with this for two years battling with the Nitrate levels.
Just thought I would let you all know about the party.....! I mean the Nitrate.....he,he,he...
A lot more reading, and vuala.... :D :D ;) ;) <img src="graemlins//urrr.gif" border="0" alt="[urrr]" /> <img src="graemlins//urrr.gif" border="0" alt="[urrr]" />

Hey PT, that's great. I hope your cc bed is shallow and your sand is deep because the sand is eventually all gonna sink down and pack in the cc. I had heard that having cc would keep the nitrates up and never hit 0 and that the sand was an excellent adversary in eliminating nitrates. I guess between that and the fact that you don't have to "clean" the sand, I decided to change now before my tank got really well established. I still have no corals, just a few fish and shrimp and snails.
Anyway, good luck. I hope you get to have a nitrate free tank from now on....enjoy!
