It's alive!

There are a bunch of fossilized/calcified clam shells on my live rocks and I always ASSUMED they were from decades past but last night I noticed this one opening and closing!!!! Now I'm going to spend hours (days) staring at the other ones to see if any of them are alive, too! There is no way he can ever move from this rock - he (and all the others) seem to be cemented to their spot by coraline (?) algae - does that affect their mortality? He never opens very much, either, but I guess he must be opening enough to take nourishment because he's survived the past 6 weeks or more. Any guesses what kind of clam(?) this is? Thanks in advance.

spot feeding clams is usually a bad thing, cause you'll clog them up. just feed your tank as usual and it will filter what it needs

An oyster would be cool, and luckily for him I am not crazy about pearls.
There are a bunch of these things on my live rock - now I'm going to be obsessed with staring at them all for signs of life. I half-kiddingly told my husband I need a Lazy Susan to put the tank on so I can more easily stare at all the different sides.
