Thank you AW2 for the comparison pix and bimac info. Perhaps its some kind of hybrid? It certainly has things in common with the bimac, but as Ive stated before there ARE other species that can have eyespots. And thanks JacknJill, its the big ol 2-0 for me :cheer:

Sorry, I guess AW2 is right. But have you owned any fish before? Did you like your Octo best (if you kept fish)?

Ive been keeping salts for 9 years now, and yes, Ive kept many fish in that time. Personally my all time favorite 'fish' was my porc puffer, then lionfish, then octo probably in a respectable 3rd place for all time favorite 'fish'. They are really cool critters, and nothing brings a smile quite like having an octopus greet your friends to your room with a enthusiastic wave

Although they are ALOT of work, my 29g octo tank was more work than my 77g aggressive tank, there is no doubt there.

I see. The reason I asked was because, I have been debating to myself over which to get. Fish or an Octopus. I know all about the Bimac, I have been researching for months. So I think I am ready. But I am just worried that it will hide all day. But with fish, you cant put ur hand in there and play with them like an Octo now can you! lol Thanks!

If youve done your homework, I say go with the octo, sure it will hide alot, but then again, and I know this sounds bad, but it will only live for a year anyways, have an octo for a year, then you can switch to fish if you want or get another octo. I have neither of my octos anymore, the 29g tank pictured is now a reef.

Oh and another thing, I have a good hour or more of live digital video of the octopus, the files vary in legnth from 10 seconds at about 1mb to 3 minutes at about 20mb. So if anyone knows a good site where you can upload videos, or has their own site where they would be willing to put them on please leave a message. I have videos of camo, stalking a live ghost shrimp, "playing", flashing colors, waving, "swimming", "squeezing", etc, etc. Most of them are 640x480 resolution, but a few are 340x260.
thanks,
jon

Ive tried putfile but the server is SOOOO slow, i tried uploading a 5 second video last nite and it took over 15mins to upload
Apparently photobucket will have video upload soon, mabe Ill just have to wait for that...or does that putfile work fine for you? mabe its my craptacular internet connection? if I emailed you a few videos would you be willing to put them on putfile and link us?
And about the octo, I searched every lfs and online store in Canada for another octo. After 2 months of searching I gave up for now and went reef. Hopefully someday tank raised bimacs will be available here
