I've found the cure....

I went away this weekend for two days, and decided to leave the lights off of the tank. also because I dont have a them on a timer. I came back sunday, and found a very low incidence of algae. Hmmm....I think I'll cut the hours back on the lights. At present, they turn on at 8am, and turn off around 7pm.

I would diffently cut back the hours. the algae will come right back when your lights come back on for there normal period of time. do you have a clean up crew??

Well, that's what I meant, Kip, a remedy, and not a cure.
As far as a clean up crew, I had put them back in, after they were removed for a month, while the display tank was in a lower state of salinity due to an Ich outbreak.
