Iwaki Pump

I have an Iwaki pump for about 8 years. Do you think it is time to get a new spare one, just in case?
For those who have Iwaki, how long do you have them? Also, do you clean them?
Thanks

I recently had one quit at about 10 years. I also have a WMD40RLT that's about 12 years old and still moving a lot of water. I do have redundent pumps though just in case one fails.
The impeller needs to be cleaned occationally.

Tnank you Bang Guy. I don't clean mine. How often do you clean the impeller? I will get a new spare one, just in case. Do you think I should get Iwaki again?

I clean my impeller once a year. It usually doesn't need it but once in a while I'll open it up and there's a lot of Calcium built up. That's when I know I need more Magnesium :D
If you're OK with the noise level go for it. They are louder than most.

Thanks.
I have the one with a Japanese motor. It is kind of loud. What pump would you recommend that is quiet, reliable, doesn't leak and doesn't need a lot of maintenance/cleaning? In other worlds as good as Iwaki but quiet.
Thank you,
Mila
