hello:)
i have got a 130g on its way to mine, should be here in a month at the latest:D
and i want to get a jap drag in there, my LFS says they can get them for around £300, so its a good deal:D
anyways, its an eel so typically its going to be hiding alot, and i dont really want just to look at a bare tank with a few rocks 90% of the time, so is there anything i can put with it?
clown trigger?
grouper?
volitans?
anything like that,
tank dimensions are: 72"x18"x24"

Damsels or other cheap fish you don't mind seeing eaten. Most fish that are too big to be eaten, groupers, pose a threat to the eel. Any fish in the tank is fair game, lions included. I worked out a deal with my LFS to buy damsels two dozen at a time for a good price. They are cheap and there is a large variety to choose from. Mine only hid for the first week or so and now is out and about more than my zebra or snowflake ever were. Don't forget about inverts. I keep 6 fire and 4 cleaner shrimp with it- constantly cleaning him.

ok thanks:D
i will get a load of damsels and other cheap small fish for it to chase etc.
and i think i may go with a large niger trigger and clown trig, not going to bother with a angel i dont think because at large enough sizes there to expensive to be taken a chance with. unless i see one for a good price.
grouper i wont get, i plan on gettin the eel when its very small, well 12"-15" hopefully, atleast then i can get the trigs at reasonable prices without them being in danger.
so clown trig and niger trig should be ok?
also, because i want he trigers, i wont be able to get the shrimp, so will cleaner wrasse be ok instead? with hermits and snails.?

The triggers will eat the hermits and snails. I have no experience with cleaner wrasses but they are the perfect shape to be eaten. Strictly from what I have read, I would be wary adding a clown trigger with a small eel.

yeh i've heard its basicallya hit or miss with the clown trig. if i cant get one then i wont. i dont want to risk a £300 fish lol.
niger should be fine, and i'll research some CUC to go with triggers.
ive heard cleaner wrasse are also hit or miss with the jap drags so i'll give it a go:)
