I don't think Marion Barber is soft when he's running over a linebacker.
I question Marion Barbers ability to play 16 games as the feature back without having injury problems....Tough to speculate as to the severity of players injuries, but when the owner says something and then has to backtrack....I think it's legitimate to question his toughness....I would have to guess Emmitt Smith (for example) would have played with the same injury.
TO is good, but over the hill....Roy Williams (your other starter if you forgot) has been banged up all year and not good enough to be a factor when he is hurt.....I think it goes back to pass blocking, I haven't watched them as much as you have but games I have seen (Cardinals, Giant's, Ravens a few more) Romo is not protected very well, they are a big O-line built for run block but not able to handle a speed front line, that's why he throws to Whitten and Barber so much, not enough time for downfield routes to develop.
Emmitt is my most favorite player of all time. But complaining that Barber isn't as tough as Smith, would be like complaining that Barber isn't on track to beat Smith's all time record. you have a smaller back that runs like Betis. There is no way he is going to make it the whole season. Also Emmitt was a down the gut back, but he never took the licks that Barber takes. I wouldn't call it soft.
Second I do think Barber could go. He has played in every game since. But where is the necessity when choice has been as good as he has been. Barber is out, and they haven't had that much a loss in production from the RB spot. But foot injuries are weird. (especially if you make your living with your feet) And every time they pan to that turkey he is standing on the side line with his helmet on ready to go in.
I didn't forget Williams, more of an ignore, (kinda like what the cowboys are doing to him). He hasn't been incorporated into this offense for me to have a strong opinion about yet. But god his hands are sexy...
And you are right, the O line has been very poor against the pass rush. But Romo dumps off a lot due to coverage. After going through his progressions. I think with the talent they do have at WR there is no way those turkeys aren't open more. I think his decision making process isn't the best and THAT IS COACHING which is my whole contention.
The tools they have in place rivals any team in this league. Their performance sucks.
