your aquascaping is great - a lot of overhangs and hiding places for fish plus a top shelf for corals. Are you planning to get another set of tangs?
Braydonosu, thank you for the compliments. I'm hoping to down the line I just want to get all my equipment and parameters set before I bring something home.

As a note Jason, I have noticed after 3 doses of the Prodibio products that my skimmer seems to be skimming dryer without any physical changes made by me. Also my filter floss need to be changed daily as it is collecting a lot more brown coloring to it. Can't see that it is any actual material of size I can identify, just the coloring. My sand is getting whiter. Not seeing anything on the coral of note yet.
You seeing anything?
Spanko, thanks for the information. I have to change filter socks as well but I'm having more a plumbing issue that needs to kins worked out of it to resolve that problem. But my sand is whiter, red slime algae died off in a day and the water looks clearer.

Where did you find that long thin plate like rock that gives you the over hangs ? Its huge ! how much does that piece weigh ? How much total pounds of live rock ? The autoscaping looks great.
Ilovemytank, that shelf rock is Tonga Shelf Rock. The Rock was from Marco Rocks. that peice weighs about 25 lbs. and is acutally two seperate pieces. I have 250 + lbs in the aquarium. Thanks for the compliments.

Digital Photography: Canon EF-S 60mm F2.8 Macro USM Lens for the Canon Digital Rebel XTi.
It has definitely been some time since I came on to post. Things have been a bit more hectic than normal. Now I have always taken great photographs with my Canon Digital Rebel XTi Camera, but I wanted to be like the rest of the cool kids that could take photographs with an extreme level of detail displayed in each shot. So I visited the wonderful photography experts at B&H Photography located in downtown New York and purchased a Canon EF-S 60mm F2.8 Macro USM Lens. I couldn't be more pleased with the quality of the photographs that these optics produce.
I have also decided that since I'm upgrading my photographic equipment that a rise in my methods of capturing, processing and presenting these images should also get a boost. All my photographs well be shot and processed in RAW format from this point forward. Unfortunately due to the limitations of my file hosting site the files will have to be converted to JPEG format with a resolutions of 2240x1680 (the equivilant of viewing a full screen photograph on a 23 inch monitor). I hope everyone enjoys the new photographs.

Equipment: Aqua Ultraviolet 25 watt Sterilizer with Wiper (Cleaning Water with Light)
I have been a bit reluctant at adding a Ultra Violet Sterilizer for a few reasons. Mainly I was concerned that it would minimize the effectiveness of my Prodibio supplements. However, after a few conversations with Prodibio customer service the only supplement that I needed to be concerned with was the Prodibio Reef Booster. They advised that I should just turn off the Ultra Violet Sterilizer for 2 hours after the addition of the supplement to allow the bacteria to adhere to solid surfaces according to their labratory studies. This was very good news to hear since I'm interested in keeping at least 3 Tangs in my aquarium in the future and would like to also have the Ultraviolet Sterilizer in place to assist in killing parasites that would be detrimental to their health. As we all know if you look at a Tang in the wrong fashion... bam! Ich outbreak! Another reason for me installing an Ultraviolet Sterilizer on the setup was that I was still having an issue with green cloudy water, which I determined was algae spores in the water. The Prodibio supplements did do a great job in reducing the intensity of the cloudiness but still looking like it could use a little hand.
I chose an Aqua Ultraviolet 25 watt Sterilizer with Wiper to address both of my needs. I believe that the water is exposed to the radiation from the bulb in an effective yet simple design. The wiper also allows the Quarts Sleeve that that shields the Ultraviolet Bulb to be cleaned without the need to disconnect and take apart the unit. Another great benefit is that Aqua Ultraviolet has great customer service and affordable replacement part prices that I have experienced first hand. The unit has been installed under the aquarium via a Maxi-Jet 1200 rated at 295 gph, which draws water from and return water to the Acrylic Sump through 1.5 Inch Vynil Tubing. The unit has been installed and in operation for only 1 day and the results are night and day, the cloudiness has literally dissapeared.

Chemical: Prodibio Bio Kit ReefSupplements (Live Bacteria Are Good)
Well many of you are requesting photograph showing a full aquarium shot to see the results of dosing with Prodibio Supplements. So I stole my wife's new Canon SD990 IS 14.7 megapixel camera and took one for you. I hope you enjoy.

Is that a wavemaker you have in the tank? Also is that enough to circulate the water in the tank? I was thinking of getting 1 also but wanted to know if I get one then can I take out the 2 powerheads in my tank. I have a 250 Gallon room divider and the less thinkgs in my tank the better for viewing from both sides. thanks

Livestock: Yellow Tang (Zebrasoma Flavescens).
I decided on purchasing as many specimens native to Hawaii. So why not start with something simple yet rewarding. So I went to a local fish store about 1 month ago and purchased a Yellow Tang (Zebrasoma Flavescens). He has been doing amazingly well as he is definitely a lover of the Green Algae Sheets, Frozen Spirulina and Mysis Shrimp which keeps his coloration amazing and body nice and plump.

Karak40, the EcoTech Marine Vortech MP40W pump have a wavemaker feature that can be used. I personally feel that you can have 2 of these pumps and have more then adequate flow for th aquarium. I have to purchase another to replace the Tunze on the right side. Also I don't even have the Vortech turned up to 1/4 the full gph rating.

I love the enthusiasm and dedication. I'm sure it'll all come together for you but it seems you're more interested in throwing money at a project for bragging rights rather than grasping the very basics of reef keeping. I don't know you and I'm not slamming at all, I love a fellow hobbyist but you can do so much without having the best top notch devices available and you can do so little with all of them in the absence of the basics.
I've enjoyed reading and keep it up and it will all come together I and jealous of one thing though... your wife is amazing! Mine is understanding but geez! How do you do it?

Deejeff442, your very welcome. It's definitely a purchase that will pay for itself in the assurance you get that you will have flow should sometime happen. I test mine every month and allow it to run on the battery for at least 24 hours. I have even forgot to plug it in again and still had the pump running without any issues. You should be very pleased with it.
