It is pretty normal for them to disapear, I have had two, one dissapeared and i found him later being eaten by a small anenome adn the other dissapeared for a long time but then just showed back up happy and healthy...so I guess you just gotta hope, you could move some things and see if you can find it. hope he is ok :happyfish

Thanks I hope he's cool. My emarlds are know to eat everything. They have to fight against 2 damsels ( I know dirty fish ). I'll find him one way or another, I'm switching everthing out to a new 90 gal. in a few days.

Jawfish by nature are skidish and may have dug in an area that you cant see. Hopefully you dont have other fish that will keep the Jaw scared of them. Dont move things around, you could crush it. Best to just hope it will get comfortable and soon decide to make its home were you can see it.

I know this is a little off subject but do I need to worry about my blue leg hermit crabs eating my clean-up crew? I have 3 clams, 2 cleaner shrimp, and 10 Cerith Snails and a bta. This all in a 10 gallon tank.

I wouldn't worry, I have a 10 gal. reef and it has 2 sally light foots and about 8 or9 hermits and they all work very well together.
