I really was thinking about getting one until I read about them. I wanted the normal jawfish but people make them seem like they just sit in the burrow...=(

I just lost my Blue spotted jawfish to a BTA, yeah they do kinda hang out in the burrow but they are really fun to watch. My BSJ was really protective of his burrow, one day a hermit crab was getting a little too close so his burrow so he darted out, picked the crab up and spit him out about 8" farther away. Sure enough, crab works his was back over to the BSJ's burrow and so he darts out, picks him up again and then spits him out about 2 feet farther away. Little later the crab has worked his way over again, so the BSJ darted out, picked him and swam all the way over to the farthest point in the tank and spit the crab into the glass...Funniest thing I've ever seen.

Hey Puffer, I was wondering what is the fish in your tank that is to the right of your jawfish in the third pic that you posted?

I want a jawfish as well, but I have already lost 1 due to him jumping out of the tank. Guess the lights turning on freak them out. I have just a small spot where they can get out and sure enough he found it.
They are awesome little fish though. I may try again.

Not at all, mine is very happy and healthy solo. I had a red one who must have bullied the purple cause the purple hid all the time until the red jumped out of the tank, since then the purple is out most of the time.
