Are these even for sale yet? C'mon, I know SOMEONE has info on these tanks.
i've seen em in Orange County for sale. the LFS owner thinks the spectrum is supposed to be better than PC lighting from what he has heard.
I looked into getting a system custom set up a while ago and they are supposed to run cooler(obviously) and last for like 12 years.

Yea the info I've read is the bulb life is 10 years (based on 10 hours per day), they have a better PAR rating than halides, and less energy consumed = lower electric bill. Also they made the filter basket clear so it can easily be turned in to a fuge, and it comes STOCK with a wavemaker system!
So that's from the manufacturer...now I'm trying to figure out if all the bells and whistles are worth the $700 price tag!
Anyone own it?

So excited!! My LFS sells these for $599...I couldn't find them anywhere online for less than $739!
Ordered it today, should have it within a week!
Im so excited about not having to replace bulbs, and Im hoping the wavemaker lives up to the hype!

My LFS sells them for 599 as well... wonder why they are so expensive online!
EDIT: Oh wait.... is the store you are talking about in OC.... do they own a few stores? Guess if it is, that's why they are the same price.

Oh Philly over here... definitely not the same guys.
I dunno, maybe it is for sale for $599 online. Thats partly why I was asking you guys about it because I could only find 2-3 websites and they had no reviews (except manufacturer write-up).

Ehh, couldn't find it for $599 or less online. It would have to be a nice discount anyway to cancel my order with my lfs - I know I can trust him.
On a slight side note, my lunar lights had been off for like 3-4 months and I just re-soldered them today. Just those 2 little lights give off such QUALITY light...I can't WAIT til I have 25 of these bad boys!

They have had one set up at a LFS in the Chicago suburbs for the last few weeks and it is actually pretty awesome.
They have LPS/SPS in there doing great (i know it hasnt been long but they do look good) and the temp stays low without any fans.

Yea the guys I talked to said it is going to be the "wave of the future." That is, once they figure out how to make the LED controllers more affordable for larger light fixtures. I just see so many pros with it...cant wait!

I do a lot of my SWF shopping in Fountain Valley, Westminister and Huntingon. Do you hit up places there? Didn't realize you were that local

Does anyone have a link to a review on this tank? It looks sick - Im thinking of buying one.
Anyone?
while the LED's are a great idea, the tank itself leaves a lot to be desired (we have the HQI model). it has a curved front panel that distorts way more than it should. out of our 13 tanx, we own 3 NC's and an AP and the 28 gal is simply hard to look at (esp. up close) and impossible to take decent photos thru. it's a good thing we use it as a QT and not a DT.
since Renee (Cranberry) didn't mention that, i thought i would...
