Hello Everyone:
I have a 29 BIO Cube and was thinking of upgrading the lighting to the following, I was wondering what the differences are between watts does in terms of the different types of corals and anenomes you can add to the tank.
For example
JBJ K-2 Viper Deluxe 150W HQI Clamp
on Lamp Lighting Fixture w/ 2 LEDs & Fan
JBJ K-2 Viper Deluxe 250W HQI Clamp
on Lamp Lighting Fixture w/ 2 LEDs & Fan
The first one is 100 bucks cheaper so I would ideally like to purchase the 1st one. Anyone have an opinion.
Thanks

There are more factors involved than just 'watts' as far as your coral possibilities.
I do think however that you could place pretty much anything with the 150w. 250 is a lot of light and alot of heat to come with it. you may have trouble with your tank temp.
Unless you are going for a SPS dominated tank or of the similar Id say you are fine with the 150w.

deffinately the 150 youll have heat issues with the 250 and in fact the 150 is plenty of light. its the same light I had on my 58 reef with sps, lps, and LTA and it was great light

ditto on the above. with the 150 you can keep anythimg you want. the only restriction i would say would be some of the most demanding sps coral but even then they will live but might not keep the best of color. most will do great in both color and growth. of course this all assumes proper water quality.
as a side note you can even put the 70 watt nanocustoms retros on that tank and still keep just about anything you want. i was going to get one but just went with the 150 due to a deal i got where it did not cost me anymore. otherwise i would have went with the 70

SO when did they start putting LED in and fans? And when did a 250wt come out? I haven't seen any like that yet.

Where can I find a good deal on this 150Watt clamp ??? Anyone know? I've seen them on the net for about $299.00
Lets get some threads going on who has seen them for the best price. Perhaps everyone can benefit.

Probably won't see any replies on that. Can't post any competitor sites here.

any competitor that sells anything hobby related is not allowed. This is a store first so certain rules are in place.
