Jebo lighting

Is the jebo lighting that is available on a certain auctions site worth a damn or is it just a waste of money? I would also like to hear some horror :scared: and success
stories from using this brand of lighting.

I have the old style 4 by 65 watt and the new style 24 inch 2 by 55 watt. I have not had any problems with either. Thinking about get the 48 inch t5 to add to my 48 inch 4 by 65.

I currently have the 4x55w PC fixture. Not worth a damn. I had to secure wires when the fixture arrived to make it work. The actinics aren't true 03 actinics and the 10K bulbs suck.
I just got a canopy so I am going to take this fixture apart, and use the ballast and sockets to retrofit the canopy. Then I plan on adding a 175w MH retrokit. Should work nicely.
The bulbs that come with the Jebo fixture are 21", and is kind of a tight fit. Standard bulbs are 22", so I'm not sure that they'll even work in the fixture. Doesnt matter much if you take the whole thing apart though.
Like I said, I have the 4x55w fixture. It's been replaced by "Jebo Odyssea 4x65w" fixture. Still using the same crappy 21" bulbs though. I have recently seen the old 4x55w fixture for sale on the popular auction site for around $60 new.

KD, how do you like the 4x65's? I have a 55 gal. is that enough, I guess that would depend on what I wanted huh! What can I have with that 260w of PC? Thanks

Well, that's about the equivalent of my tank now....
I have clove polyps, zoanthids, mushrooms, a colt, toadstool, and a xenia.
I would say any soft corals (leathers, zoos, shrooms), and possibly a hammer, torch, or frogspawn. Anything that requires strong lighting would be out of the question.

I've had the 220W since Jan and one whole set of the lights died Friday. when u try to take it apart the whole thing falls apart! I still have NO CLUE whats wrong with it...Aquid told me to try and replace teh switch...so I have to do that this week...or just bring it to an electrician to look at...either way...cheap lights!! I don't think I would get them again unless I got a really good deal on them! LOL so KDfrosty if u wanna sell urs for parts let me know!

I got the Jebo Odyssea 4*65 watt PC fixture 4 months ago. Built a canopy for it and my original 130 watt coralife. The jebo fixture has not given me 1 problem, if anything the opposite. Built pretty sturdy.

I've had mine for 6 months, and besides pre-install I haven't had any problems either. I just wish I would've spent an extra $150 and got a MH retrofit kit.

i have the 2x96 PC. I have had them since april. They have served me well. The fans burnt out, but they came on suddenly one day and work now. It give me 192 watts. not a lot, but its in my 40 breeder which is only a 16 inch high tank so i can keep softies and some LPS, which to tell you the truth, was all i wanted  <hee he, i love that little guy, I use him in most of my posts

don't get them from Aquariumlights from Sacremento, CA. they are by far the worst company I've ever dealt with on the auction site. I bought a MH retrofit kit from cooltouchlighting, they are VERY good. see if they have T5.

I am on a limited budget right now. College student about to buy a car. But i am still squeezing money out that should go to the car to use for my tank. I just wanted to find a light that would work on my 30g tall so i could keep some anemones. The one i saw for auction was the 24" 2 x 65W with the led night lights( which i have some that i made myself anyway) the whole thing was for around $40 so i figured even if i can use it is a retro kit that it would be worth the money

I wouldnt put anemones under that lighting though.

A taller tank makes it harder for light to penetrate to deeper depths, reducing the lights stregnth (PAR). Personally I wouldn't keep anemones with PC lighting at all, but if I did I would make sure that it was more than 4 wpg. IMO you probably need at least VHOs for an anemone in your tank...preferably MHs.

i was looking at getting VHO's or a MH but i am on a tight budget (college student saving for a car) and am kind of limited to what i can put in.

i dont think an anenomoe would be able to last very long under that lighting. Even the moderate lighting ones.

With that lighting you'll be limited to what you can put in.

I've had the Jebo 4 X 55 on my 55 gallon tank for two and half years. No problems. But, the actinic is not true. I had no problem changing the bulbs out as needed. I only have live rock, fish and an anemone (been in there for several months) in that tank. My 72 has a coralife that is a better quality light. Depending on what you want to put in the tank, and your budget, I would consider the Jebo.

I ALSO HAVE THE JEBO 4X55w LIGHT AND IT WORKS GOOD...NO PROBLEM...WE HAVE 2 ANEMONES AND THEY ARE ALL DOING GREAT.

the tank itself is only 24" tall. That with a 4" sand bead leaves it at 20" then if the anemone holds in the sand or on the rock, it would only be 20" from the light at the max. So would 20" be too deep for 195W of PC to penetrate?
