U seem to be the shark man so i guess ill ask u but who ever else knows please answer im looking for every opinion. I bought the aquarium 2 day it was a 450 they had it and they had a 500 but the 500 was glass and i heard that n aquarium that big should not be glass because it can break so i got the acrylic i was wondering this guy i know has baby eppaulette shovelnose bamboo nurse and also leopard sharks i was wondering if i cooo get 1 shovelnose 1 bamboo 1 eppatte and 2 leopards also a california ray and maybe a green moray eel i know that maybe in the future i will have to get rid of some of them when they become monster but he said he will buy them back and he at this time has 5 1000 gallon aquariums an 1 shark pond outside so he always has room will this work. thanks anyone for the response

There's a little problem. Shovelnoses, leopards, and cali rays are all cold water fish, while bamboos and epaulettes are warm water fish. Although leopards can live in warmer water fine I don't know about the shovelnose or cali ray.
If I were you I'd try to find some brown(or gray if thats all you can find) smoothounds for that tank instead of leopards since they only get about 3ft. A leopard would get to big even for a 1000g although I don't know about the shark pond. The shovlenose will have to go once it get to big also. How big is the shark pond?
I'd go for 2 smoothounds/leopards(as long as your sure you have a place for them in a few years), a bamboo, an epaulette, and a instead of the cali ray, a yellow ray.
I don't know about the green moray but i belive splash had one that ate one of his leopards.
What are the dimensions of the 450?

im not sure on the dimensions yet im measuring as i type. also is there any other nice cold water fish i like the horn shark and there cold water fish that can go with them thanks jim i ll find the dimensions out.

Horns would be a great substitute for the bamboo and epaulette if you wanted to make it a cold tank. Also swell sharks are from the same area as leopards, smoothounds and horns and stay around 3 ft. I don't know of any cold water fish though available though.
You can make yourself a california coast tank with smoothounds or leopards, and a horn and swell shark(one of my dream tanks). You'll probably need to have the swell sharks specially ordered for you though since they are pretty rare in the aquarium trade. Most cold water sharks are hard to find.

thanks jim u have been a huge help one last thing though how can i find smoothhound sharks ive never seen a pic do u know any sites also in cold water tanks u just dont put a heater or what also no live rock right wont the living stuff die and decay thanks how bout a cat shark like the one on marinedepotlive.com is that coldwater. thanks again u have been a huge help

The one that has a picture is called a shovelnose shark, and they need huge aquariums, and are difficult fish.

Ask your lfs about smoothounds first. The pic splash posted are of his gray smoothounds, browns have a bronze/coppery color, both are attractive and look basically like leopards with out the "saddles". As for pics you can do a search on google.com or something, I don't know. If you've seen a leopard you've seen the basic shape of a smoothound.
There are smaller cold water cat sharks like the smallspotted catshark(Scyliorhinus canicula). The cat shark on marine depot is not a true cat shark its a bamboo shark like i have and is warm water.
You can have lr in the tank, it won't hurt anything as long as its cured.
Depending on the weather were you live, you may need a chiller. The tank will have to stay around 60-70 degrees, no higher.

just started i bought 45 pounds of lr i heard shark can cut themslecves on it i bout 300 lbs of that bio argonite live sand the one in the package i was wondering one more thing so a swell shark does anyone have any clue were to find those they look awsome also so do the grey smoothhounds im thinking of getting 1 horn 1 smooth hound 1 swell the ray and maybe 1 leopard as a baby i know they grow just 2 huge
