Some day I would love to have my own little reef store. That would be my dream!!! Maybe some day...Once I learn more about reef care and fish and everything....I think I have most of the buisness down, (no college but I've got plenty of experience in buisness now!) That was always a dream to own a pet store or something to that effect, just love seeing and watching everything from fish, to hampsters, to birds, to puppies. Maybe if I win the powerball or something..... :thinking:

It wasn't exactly related to the hobby, but I was a zookeeper for five years, and took care of a 10,000 gallon tank (freshwater though). We had a stingray touch tank once (didn't work out well at all, mangement had thier heads up thier butts and wouldn't listen to those of us with actual salt water experience)
I have also worked in several LFS in the past.
Right now me and my husband have a side business of building custom aquarium stands, we also set up tanks for people and I hope to have some maintenance contracts soon. I don't expect to make a ton of money, just get out of the house a bit doing what I love, supporting my hobby.

Ooh thats cool Birdy, that'd be a good idea helping people set up and maintain a tank, but I think I need some more experience for that though! But I am going to think about that in the future! BTW, those twins are tooo cute!!! :D

Did you happen to work at the KC zoo?
I work at a lfs part-time. All we do is saltwater. We also setup and maintian them. Nice place to work except for the constant temptation to take stuff home.

should be getting a casual job at my lfs soon. they are really good and professional, only store in South Australia that quaranties their fish. i only have 5-6 months experience but they just want someone to clean the tanks and give customer adivse. i know alot about the equipment just need to learn more about the livestock...this will help big time. plus i will hopefully get a metal halide system at staff prices aswell :yes:
cant wait to start...it will be the silly season but wat better way start then jumpin in to the deep end.
