Joe's Juice Overhaul

I had one very tiny Apitasia (sp.?) on a piece of LR right next to some Xenia and feather dusters. So to be on the safe side I got some Joe's Juice after hearing the raves. Got the syringe and squirted it on the bugger. Well it retracted into its hole and my clumsy self spilled probably 1/2cc of it on the LR. It is still there around the apitasia eventhough there is a good current.
Do you think it would hurt anything? It seems to have gone away and the nearby things seem fine. Should I somehow wipe the rest of it off?
Or maybe i should stop worrying, huh?

I squirted a bunch of that stuff into my tank a week or so ago also, and everything is fine.

I tried to kill an Aptasia in the middle of my Xenia colony. Joe's Juice wiped out half the Xenia colony. All the stalks fell off the LR and floated all around the tank until the settled somewhere else. Most are still alive, just all in different places.

Rappa, you may have stumbled on something there by accident. People are always asking how to remove Xenia without having it grow back

Be careful with Joe's Juice it can and will kill other corals. I had some zoos that I wanted to kill and just about wiped out my tank.

Just use a turkey bastor to blow it off. Thats what I do. Joes juice works sometimes, but definetly not all the times. I have been trying to kill these 2 I have for months.

I've tried it and I don't think it works for long term it can still come back after awhile and yes it can also hurt other corals. I decided trying other things instead like peppermint shrimp that seem to do a pretty good job so far.

If you have access to the aptasia by hand, just use something long and sharp to kill it. While I've been lucky and only had 2 of them in my tank in the last year, I simply used a BBQ skewer and stabbed the heck out of them and they never came back. Why use chemistry if physics does the job :p

we borrowed a peppermint shrimp from our neighbor, he was having too much fun in a new tank and ignored the tiny aptasia. We almost went for the Joe's juice, but instead inflicted scalding hot water upon it.

Lockemup.......how's my home away from home doing? Sunny and warm I hope!! :joy:

Was windy as hell the past few days. Highs have been in the mid 60s to mid 70s while the lows have been in the upper 30s to mid 50s. Just cool enough to put a log in the fireplace and curl up in front of the tank, er I mean TV.

The key to joe's juice is to use a little. I have killed Aiptasia right in the middle of zoanthid colonies with no problems. Don't use a lot in your tank at once... like, don't kill one here, and one there, and another one over there, and that little one in the corner.....
