last nite i was watching "the usual suspects" when evrything went black rite after a explosion, my first thot "oh s---!! the tank!" the lights wer out and my fish wer preparing for a sleepless nite, so was i.
ppl say diasasters bring out the best in ppl, i think it also brings out the best in fish. my 3 stripe damsels would take turns keeping watch so the ghost of the lionfish woldnt eat them. my other damsels huddled in a little group to stay warm. as i stayed up for about 6-8 hours stirring the water in the tank so circulation would be apparent in a 19th century sort of way, i noticed lots of little organisms that i nevr saw in the day, some sort of worms would vibrate themselves to make themselves motile. a bristle worm that went under my rock and a few seconds later blasted some sand out from underneath it! :scared: and some type of serpent star that was unrecognizable
. at around 4:00am the power came on. i actually got some sleep! until 5am when my brother demaned me to get on xbox live to play halo2 w/ him. ooh well atleast the tank is ok, my water is good, no ammonia, no nitrates or nitrites, ph 8.2. my nite was something ill probably nevr forget.

whoa, that sucks...but at least you got to see some cool stuff going on in your tank that you might otherwise not have seen. I used to do the stir it by hand method also when the power went out. I saved up and bought a generator, now I can run my entire system and plug in my deep freezer and fridge. Well worth the $550 I spent even though I've only used it three times in the last 6 months.
