Look at this thing - isn't he gorgeous? He's huge and has a really pretty pinkish-orange border on his body. He really does bury himself just like the small version but when he senses some good food has entered the tank he surfaces like a submarine and shows off his attractiveness. You can't tell from the pic but his shelll is a good 2". If you are placing an order with SWF.com I highly recommend you pick up one of these.... very cool!

Yes, they are really cool. I have one that I picked up somewhere in a batch awhile back. I didn't realize just how big he was until he was in the tank with the rest
I was a little worried at first that he might be a problem to the others, but no...he's a big teddy bear. Mine has to be 2-2 1/2 inches of shell (not counting the tail) and looks just like yours....

Most Nassarius don't go up on the rocks or glass anyway (occassionally on the glass but they usually fall off before they reach their destination), but I rarely see my "godzilla snail". I often think Iv'e lost him or something, then a week or two later he resurfaces

I haven't had mine long enough to answer the "climbing on rocks and knocking stuff over" question but I seriously doubt it..... from what I've seen (or not seen) they bury themselves as soon as they hit the tank and only surface when they smell food. I've never seen him on the glass or on a rock, just on the sand and under the sand.

I used to have one, it was fun,in fact i still have his shell in my tank after he passed. Mines shell is a light white with all the orange spots visable.

Yes, Sue's is young, but her pic shows the coloring you are talking about (look at the shell in the upper left area). The older they get, the less white streaking they will have, and more of this spotted coloration.

LOL..I am always looking for a good sand cleaner for my 225....(cheap is good too)

Still learning how to take marine pictures so over look the blurriness. My collection comes from SWF,TPP and LFS. They are interesting to watch and only come out during feed time and mines to climb the tank glass but not the rocks, enjoy

Oh wow - how gorgeous! I guess mine will develop a more colorful shell as it gets older? (I think that's what was mentioned in an earlier post). I didn't realize they all had that pink/orange border on their body - I find that so fancy.

I have a couple of the smaller ones and sometimes when I feed they go all the way up the glass and go back down. It's weird but a sight to see. Then it's cool to see their tentacle things sticking up out of the sand. I also love when I feed my tank the hermits start freaking out and crawling everywhere!

I have a bunch of the little ones too, and sometimes before I feed they are up on the glass....and when I put the food in...they turn real quick...start the downward slide...AND THEN JUMP...

HMMM...I was just reading the description, and they say minimum tank size 40G....Anyone have one of these in a smaller tank....I wanted one in my 29 too.

No - sorry. Mine is in the seahorse tank (46 gallon bowfront).
